Overview
Leather Heavy Filler is a thick, water-based repair compound developed for deep scratches, cuts, nicks and through-damage. Its smooth, uniform consistency spreads easily across prepared damage and bonds firmly to leather and compatible artificial materials.
Once dry, the repair remains flexible and can withstand normal stretching, bending and movement without cracking or separating. The black and beige colour variants can reduce the amount of recolouring required for repairs in similar shades.

How to Use
Before you start
- Test on a small, inconspicuous area.
- Keep the container tightly closed when not in use to prevent the product from hardening.
Repair application
- For through-damage, reinforce the back of the repair using a reinforcing backing and Leather Glue WB.
- Fill the prepared damage evenly with Leather Heavy Filler.
- Allow the layer to dry completely. A hair dryer may be used to accelerate drying.
- Because the filler is water-based, slight shrinkage may occur while drying.
- Apply additional thin layers until the repaired area is level with the surrounding surface.
- Allow every layer to dry before applying the next.
- Sand the final layer to remove small irregularities.
- Add up to 10% Leather Colourant if further colour adjustment is required.
Colour application
- Shake Leather Colourant thoroughly.
- Apply in thin, even layers. Spraying is recommended for the most uniform result.
- If spraying, the colourant may be diluted with distilled water.
- Recommended nozzle diameter: 0.5 to 1.2 mm.
- Recommended pressure: 1.1 to 8 bar, depending on equipment.
- Ensure the compressed air is free from water and oil.
- Filter the colourant through a 190-micron filter before spraying.
Finishing
- Protect the completed repair with Leather Top Coat.
- Add Leather Cross Linker X at 5 to 10% of the total top coat volume.
- Apply the top coat in thin, even layers, preferably by spraying.
- Avoid excessively thick layers, which may affect colour and increase stiffness.
- The surface can typically be used after 2 to 3 hours.
- Allow 8 to 12 hours for full curing.
- Avoid cleaners and leather care products during the first week.
Tool cleanup
- Rinse tools thoroughly with water.
Use Leather Prep when required.
