Leather Cross Linker ECO

Overview

Leather Cross Linker Eco is a two-component hardener developed to strengthen water-based polyurethane leather coatings while providing a safer, non-toxic application option.

It improves resistance to abrasion, water, fats and oils and can be added to LeTech Leather Primer, Leather Colourant and Leather Top Coat. The mixture cures at room temperature, although controlled heat can be used to accelerate and improve the reaction.

Leather Cross Linker Eco provides a longer working time than
faster-reacting hardeners and is particularly useful when environmental safety and increased moisture resistance are priorities.

Choosing a Cross Linker

• Choose Cross Linker Eco when safety, environmental performance and moisture resistance are priorities.
• Choose Cross Linker X or Cross Linker X Strong when maximum strength and faster reaction are required.
• Cross Linker Eco can be mixed with Cross Linker X at a 50:50 ratio to combine characteristics from both technologies.

How to Use

1. Select Leather Primer, Leather Colourant or Leather Top Coat as the base product.
2. Add Leather Cross Linker Eco at 3 to 15% of the total product volume.
3. Mix thoroughly for approximately two minutes.
4. Apply the prepared mixture according to the instructions for the selected primer, colourant or top coat.
5. Dry every applied layer thoroughly.
6. Controlled heat from a hair dryer can be used to accelerate and improve the chemical reaction.
7. Adjust the amount carefully, as excessive hardener may increase the stiffness of the finished coating.
8. Use the prepared mixture within five hours.
