Leather Masking Fluid

Leather Masking Fluid is used when dyeing or recolouring
leather with contrasting stitching. After application it forms a thin
protective film over the seam, helping prevent thread from being stained. Once the work is complete, it can be rolled away by hand without leaving residue.

1. Apply to stitching in a fairly thick layer using a dosing bottle and spout, leaving a slight raised layer for easy removal after drying.
2. If product spreads beyond the seam, collect it from the edge toward the center of the thread with a spatula so it covers only the stitching.
3. Do not apply too thinly, thin application can soak into thread and become difficult to remove.
4. For worn or frayed seams, pre-trim the seam or lightly singe the fray as described, to make masking and removal easier.
